Miximodel prohibits the upload, generation, publication and sharing of synthetic or manipulated imagery that depicts a real, identifiable person without that person's consent. This applies whether or not the image is sexual, whether or not it is flattering, and whether or not it was made with our tools.
1. What this policy covers
A deepfake, for the purposes of this policy, is any image or video in which a real person's face, body or voice has been generated, swapped, retouched or otherwise manipulated so that the result can be taken for a genuine depiction of them. "Synthetic-likeness content" is the wider category: any output built to resemble a specific real person, including one produced from their name, a description of their appearance, or photographs of them used as a reference.
The test is identifiability, not technique. It does not matter which model produced the image, whether it was made on Miximodel or elsewhere, or how much of the final frame is synthetic. If an ordinary viewer could take the depicted person to be a particular real human being, this policy applies to it.
2. What is prohibited
The following is not permitted on Miximodel and is removed on sight. This restates, in one place, prohibitions that already bind under our Terms of Service, §6 — Acceptable Use and our Moderation Policy, §2 — Prohibited content.
- Synthetic or AI-manipulated imagery designed to resemble a real, identifiable individual without their consent — including any such image used to impersonate, defame or mislead, and any image produced from the name, likeness description or identifying information of a real person.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, including "revenge porn" and deepfake nudity, and any depiction of a person who has not provided explicit consent to publication.
- Non-sexual impersonation. A synthetic image of an identifiable person doing something ordinary but false — attending an event, holding a product, wearing a uniform, standing beside someone — is prohibited on exactly the same terms as a sexual one. Harm to a person's reputation does not require nudity, and this policy does not treat it as though it did.
- Any synthetic depiction of a minor, in any context whatsoever. This is not a consent question and no consent can cure it.
- Uploading a photograph of another person to be used as a generation reference without that person's written consent, whether or not anything is ever published from it.
The prohibition applies to all synthetic content produced through the platform's AI tools, including the Synthetic Character Builder, and equally to synthetic content produced anywhere else and uploaded here.
3. Consent, and what it does not stretch to
Consent to be photographed is not consent to be synthesised. Every uploader on Miximodel accepts the Content Provider Agreement, which requires the written, freely given consent of every depicted person and verification of their identity and age. For synthetic likeness, that consent must be specific: a release signed for a photo shoot does not authorise generating new images of that person, and a model's agreement to appear on the platform does not authorise anyone to build a character from their face.
Consent is also revocable. A depicted person who consented may withdraw that consent, and the content comes down — see Section 5.
4. What we do not detect
We will not overstate what our systems can do, because a false assurance is worse than an honest gap.
Miximodel does not run automated deepfake detection. No classifier on this platform determines whether an image is synthetic, nor whether it resembles a particular real person. Our pre-publication screening looks at two things only — nudity, and whether a face appears to belong to a person under 18 — as described in our Moderation Policy, §3 — The moderation pipeline.
This prohibition is therefore enforced the way most content rules are enforced: by the rule binding every member who uploads, by reports from the people best placed to recognise a false depiction of themselves, and by human review with the authority to remove content and terminate accounts. If you are depicted in something on this platform, your report is the fastest route to its removal, and Section 5 is how to send it.
5. If you are depicted
You do not need an account, and you do not need to prove you are the subject before we act. Tell us where the content is and that it depicts you without your consent.
Content alleging that a depicted person is a minor, or that intimate imagery was published without consent, is withheld from public view immediately on receipt, before our review is complete. We would rather withhold a lawful image for a few days than leave an unlawful one up while we deliberate.
If you disagree with the outcome, the depicted-person removal appeal is decided by a neutral body at our expense — see Moderation Policy, §7 — Depicted-person removal appeal.
6. Enforcement
Removal is the minimum. Depending on what was published and whether it was deliberate, we restrict visibility, warn the uploader, suspend the ability to publish, or terminate the account outright. The enforcement ladder is set out in Moderation Policy, §4 — Actions we can take, and it applies here without modification.
Where content appears to constitute a criminal offence, we preserve the evidence and report it to the competent authorities.
7. The law this rests on
Publishing a synthetic depiction of a real person is not merely against our rules. In the jurisdictions that govern this platform it is unlawful, and the member who publishes it — not only Miximodel — carries that exposure.
- FR loi n° 2024-449 du 21 mai 2024, which prohibits creating or distributing synthetic image or video content depicting an identifiable real person without their consent.
- Art. 226-8 of the French Code pénal, which makes it a criminal offence to publish a manipulated image of a real person where doing so risks harm to their dignity or reputation.
- Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act), Article 50, which places transparency obligations on providers and deployers of AI systems that generate synthetic image content and on those who deploy deep-fake content.
8. Operator
